Genoa, 23 March – 23 and 24 May 2023
CapLab, the joint laboratory of Ecospray and University of Genoa, was presented with a series of events to authorities, to the maritime and energy industry, and to the research world. The three days dedicated to the presentation of the CapLab -the laboratory where “carbon capture” solutions with Molten Carbonate Fuel Cells (MCFCs) are studied- confirmed a significant and cross-cutting interest in decarbonization topic.
The first day, March 23, 2023, was dedicated to the official presentation of the laboratory to several authorities: the President of the Liguria Region Giovanni Toti and the Mayor of Genoa Marco Bucci attended, along with other representatives of the business world, the maritime and land-based industrial sector, as well as the local and national press.
The CapLab was then also presented to the world of Industry and Research in a two-days event held on May 23rd and 24th. The response from the industrial sector and the academic world, both national and international, was equally significant: about 150 people attended, confirming the involvement and partaking in the energy transition matters and the ongoing decarbonization process, in which Ecospray is actively engaged.
The CapLab indeed aims to study and develop the molten carbonate fuel cell technology (MCFC-Molten Carbonate Fuel Cells), which, by enabling the capture of CO2 and secondarily, the production of clean energy, can effectively promote the transition from a fossil fuel-based present to a CO2-free future.
Not only scientific and technological research, but also experimentation, joint participation in national and international research programs, conducting theses and training internships, establishment of research grants, studies and teaching activities: the Caplab is at the center of all these activities.
