Hamburg, 3 September 2024
SMM proves to be a must-attend event for the entire international marine community and its operators.
During the four days in Hamburg it was possible to meet customers, partners and suppliers with whom the Ecospray team discussed the challenges facing the industry.
Once again, carbon capture was one of the most discussed topics, despite the lack of specific legislation to guide operators’ investments and decisions.
The attention generated by the presence of the main components and the final matrix of a fuel cell confirmed the interest in this specific carbon capture solution using Molten Carbonate Fuel Cells, developed at the CapLab in Genoa.
At the same time, all the solutions belonging to the world of air pollution control remain highly topical: EGCS systems, also as a prerequisite for on-board carbon capture, and catalytic solutions for NOx reduction. In view of the emergence of new fuels and therefore new pollutants to be reduced, the topic of methane slip was also the subject of stimulating meetings and discussions with the many operators who visited our stand at this edition.
The success of this edition was also confirmed by the presence of many of our customers, who had the opportunity to meet with the Service and Training Center (ETC) team, now more active than ever with the new Hands-On course, which includes hands-on activities with real components to prepare operators for the use of on-board systems.
